My Background

Hi, I’m Maryn. I’m a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) in Washington and hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I am also a National Certified Counselor (NCC) which signifies meeting strict national standards for clinical competency and ongoing professional development. I provide telehealth counseling sessions across Washington state.

About Me

Who I Help

My practice is dedicated to supporting individuals navigating complex, specific challenges— including chronic illness, trauma, burnout, relational concerns, and adoption. I provide a specialized space for clients managing these distinct realities. I also work with those struggling with stress, life changes, and other mental health conditions.

As one of the few clinicians in Washington who specializes in chronic illness counseling, I am honored to provide a space for clients dealing with invisible disabilities such as: POTS, EDS, PMDD, MCAS, and endometriosis.

I work with ages 12+

Hello!

My Approach

I believe that every individual is unique and a one-size-fits-all approach is ineffective. I take a holistic approach to health, focusing on the whole person.

As an integrative therapist, I use a blend of therapeutic methods. I practice acceptance and committment therapy (ACT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy skills (DBT), and existential therapy. I also practice attachment-based therapy with a relational style. I use a chronic illness-informed and trauma-informed approach.

I view therapy as collaborative. During our initial session, we will discuss your goals and treatment plan together to create a plan that works best for you.

My therapy style is direct, down-to-earth, and rooted in scientific evidence—with the occasional touch of dark humor.

A Bit About Me

I built this practice because of a glaring gap in the field: traditional counseling often misses the mark when it comes to the realities of chronic illness and attachment-based trauma. Having navigated these landscapes firsthand as an adoptee and part of the POTS community, I know how exhausting it is to try to fit specialized experiences into a generic framework. I created this practice to help bridge that divide, pairing professional clinical precision with genuine, lived understanding.

In my free-time, I enjoy spending time with my dogs and those I love. I appreciate a good cup of coffee (or two), reading, science, and music. I am passionate about chronic illness advocacy and mental health care.
